The 1851 Club is perceived as a great value at a fair price for those who enjoy preserving the Story Historic District.
Travis accepts preregistrations each Tuesday and Friday:
"This job of preserving the historic district has never been easier." Innkeeper Rich said to Travis.
The cat looked up, sincerity in eyes.
"Would you like a bite." with Blue and onlookers on attendance.
"You're the best there is, and you're momma is proud. But I want to get debt free!"
"Have a bite, I know you eat off the floor"
"That's only after I mop, and I don't do it that often"
"So What?"
"They outta cut spending, and so should localities." Rich shrugged suggesting a better business environment.
"That sounds like something outside your control. And then"
"It'll be easier for businesses to operate"
"And then"
"It ain't hard to tell. Raising innkeepers taxes 8% reduces occupancy. Multivariate econometric regression analysis proves more guests will come."
"And then"
"Well, along the inelastic demand curve perceived value for guests' increases."
"And then"
"Preservation for the historic district continues! Specifically, and strategically proving CBV sucks."
"What"
"My momma wasn't wrong. The CVB sucks and they're not good at it either"
"Are you sure"
"Doctors confirmed it. Now I know what they meant"
"Chomp, chomp"
"Sucking without intention is like being in a relationship leading toward a divorce. But with this beast, you couldn't, and will never have freedom."
"Freedom is death and I usually rip out their throat first"
"So would Blue"
'So what's that plan?
"I couldn't imagine doing a job so bad for the community, on the taxpayer dime. And I've worked in government"
"Hmm. What's your problem"
"The CVB doesn't list Story their register of Brown County B&Bs"
"So what"
"It just can't be this way"
"Why?"
"Because that's the name of the business"
"So What"
"I pay them"
"Do you?"
"Yes! The innkeepers tax directly pays their salaries.
"What!"
"The people who work at Story aren't as bad at their jobs"
"What!
"Ya they're better, if not the best"
"What!"
"They are very best"
"Huh"
"Imagine a team of mice that are all good at their job. Then visit Nashville
ACT II
-- Mice do better -
"What did you say?"
"All them folks who are bad at their jobs would be fired"
"What!"
"Imagine not being able to catch a mouse, while demanding a max contract"
"Huh"
"Travis, if you're the fattest cat around you couldn't earn a max contract"
"Maybe the government eared it"
"Maybe they did.
"What"
"For how long"
"Well I caught all those mice, from 1915- present, and paid into the social security programs"
"Travis, you're a cat, and you don't get your retire benefits.
"Check my contract"
"Oh wow, as long as the 1851 Club gets approved through committee.
"Well usually until their neck falls off"
"I want to preserve this place"
"That's the goal" in unison Story Preservation Society was formed.
