In 2013, we renovated a 1,600 square foot tin-roofed barn built in 1907. We have fitted the Barn with a concrete dance floor/stage, dancing and dining facilities, and a 200 amp electrical service. We can accommodate up to 80 guests under roof and 300 guests under the stars or tent. The stage comes decorated with draping & lighting, so all you need to bring is your self!
The Barn venue is rented out by the weekend. Clients are encouraged to come as early as Wednesday to start decorating and enjoy their wedding week festivities! We do offer Day of Coordinators to help with setup, planning, and overall execution.
Catering can be provided by Story or you are welcome to bring your own in.
Not far from the barn is a carefully tended herb garden which supplies our gourmet restaurant. In the spring, hundreds of daffodils and day lilies shoot from the turf, to complement the riot of redbuds and dogwoods in the forest. During warm weather, the fenced garden area is available for weddings; it can handle groups of up to 65 persons seated at a table & 100 persons ceremony.
The 19th Century grain mill next to the Story Inn's General store is a perfect place for all weather meetings and parties for up to 30 people.
This remarkably well-preserved tin roofed clapboard edifice still has the original grain milling equipment in place! We recently renovated the interior of this remarkable building with pine paneling from locally-harvested trees. We offer a full range of menu items in the Old Mill, which your group can enjoy in privacy, come snow, rain, heat, or night. The Mill offers not only a catering space on the first level, and an overnight king suite upstairs which comes with the rental fee.
