This historic tin-roofed Victorian-style cottage was constructed in the mid 19th century and occupied by Alra Wheeler, who successfully ran the General Store during Story’s heyday. The cottage sits right across the road from the General Store, in the center of town. The East (Back) side is quite large, with two private bedrooms (both pictured), each with full-sized beds. This cottage underwent extensive renovations in 2007, and has a full kitchen, private deck with porch swing, and a large living room with a comfortable new queen-sized fold-out sleeper sofa. We rebuilt the bathroom in this cottage (pictured), which now has a large shower, an antique-style claw-footed tub, and two wash basins. This is the perfect cottage for family gatherings.

Addenda:
The price above is exclusive of taxes and based upon occupancy by four persons. There is a charge of $15.00 for each additional person, not to exceed the maximum occupancy of the room, as noted. Children ten and under who do not need bedding are free.

Check-in is anytime after 3:00 p.m., and check-out by 11:00 a.m., unless you make other arrangements with us.

We permit dogs in the Wheeler Back Cottage at a charge of $10.00 per pet, per night. Sorry, we cannot permit cats, due to allergies.

If you intend to enjoy breakfast with us, you may purchase a “Bed & Breakfast Package” at $7.50/person, which will enable you to order any food and beverage from the regular breakfast menu (except for alcoholic beverages).
